We approach the institution’s 25th anniversary with the satisfaction of what we have achieved so far, experiencing the present with the challenges that the future presents, and with the need to continue working to sustain and continue making our ideals a reality.
WE ARE WORKING ON:
- THE REHABILITATION OF THE ARMEÑIME HOME.
- THE CREATION OF THE NEW SAN JUAN CENTER FOR CURATIVE PEDAGOGY AND SOCIAL THERAPY.
The physical spaces where we have carried out our work have been leased, either by individuals or local governments. These spaces have been insufficient to meet the institution’s needs. However, following the announcement that we must leave the spaces we have occupied up to now, we are forced to seek new solutions.
This project, therefore, arises from the need to place fragility in its broadest sense at the heart of our concerns, our thoughts, and our research. Illness, debilitating situations, instability, and imbalances not only in human beings and governments, but also in nature, are our daily motivation in the attempt to provide valid, evolving responses, always paying attention to this fragility characteristic of our times.
To this end, we are currently searching for suitable land and the support to facilitate the construction of the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the four main pillars of our work: «School for All» (an inclusive school using Waldorf and Curative Pedagogy),
a day care and educational center, and residential care in the «Homes.» To this end, we are working with the Faculty of Architecture of the European University in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is working on a voluntary basis to develop the architectural project.
